Privacy policy
Last updated 3 November 2026.
Lipsmacking is an ordering platform that lets restaurants, cloud kitchens and hotels take orders directly from their customers. This policy explains what information Lipsmacking collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. "We" means the operator of Lipsmacking; "the restaurant" means the business you order from or work for.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, mobile number and, if you sign in with Google, your email address. Staff and delivery partners are added by the restaurant, which enters their name, mobile number or email, role and pay details.
- Orders: items ordered, delivery or table details, saved delivery addresses (including a location point if you choose "use my location"), order history, wallet balance, cashback, ratings and reviews.
- Delivery partners: while a delivery is active, the device location is shared so the customer and restaurant can follow it. It is not stored once no delivery is active.
- Optional details: date of birth and gender, used only in anonymous totals.
- Device data: a sign-in cookie, and, if you allow notifications, a push-notification address for your browser.
How you sign in, and what we receive
Sign in with Google. If you choose Google, we receive only your Google account's verified email address, name and a stable account identifier. We use them solely to recognise you and sign you in. We do not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or any other Google data, we do not sell it, and we do not share it for advertising. Lipsmacking's use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Mobile number with a WhatsApp code. To confirm that a mobile number is yours we send a one-time code on WhatsApp through Meta's WhatsApp Business platform. Your number is shared with Meta for that purpose. There are no passwords in Lipsmacking.
How we use information
- To sign you in, take and fulfil orders, process refunds and keep your wallet balance.
- To let a restaurant run its business: its menu, orders, staff, payroll, invoices and reports.
- To send order updates and, if you allow it, notifications.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees your information
- The restaurant you order from sees your name, number, address and order history with that restaurant only. A restaurant cannot see your activity at any other restaurant.
- Delivery partners see the name, address and phone number for an order only while it is assigned to them.
- Payment gateway. Online payments are handled by the restaurant's own payment gateway (currently Razorpay). We never see or store your card or UPI details.
- Service providers that help us run Lipsmacking: Meta (WhatsApp codes) and our hosting provider.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account and order data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, wallet records, reviews and saved addresses are removed. Past orders stay with the restaurant for its tax and accounting records, but your name, number and address are blanked from them.
Your choices and rights
- Correct your details at any time in Account.
- Delete your account and personal data from Account, or by contacting us.
- Turn off notifications in your browser settings.
- Ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you.
Children
Lipsmacking is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
Connections are encrypted, access is checked on every request, restaurants' payment keys are stored encrypted, and each restaurant's data is kept separate from every other's.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
